The Battlestar Galactia revival was filmed in Vancover, British
Columbia, which was also the home of the Stargate: SG-1 production offices. It should
come as no surprise that several Battlestar Galactia actors have appeared in
roles both big and small on Stargate. Aaron Douglas (left), who plays Chief Petty
Officer Galen Tyrol on the new BSG, has appeared in two episodes of Stargate,
starting with the third season's Maternal Instinct, and then in the sixth season's
Redemption Part 2, where he threatened a captured Teal'c with a staff weapon.
Actress Grace Park (right), who played Chief Tyrol's lover Lt. Sharon "Boomer"
Valerii on BSG, also appeared in an episode of Stargate. She played Lt.
Satterfield--a character that was never given a first name--who, along with a
group of other new recruits, must help O'Neill regain control of Stargate
Command after hostile aliens have seized control in a foothold situation in the
episode Proving Ground.
Satterfield had a major crush on Daniel Jackson, and was reluctant to harm him even
though he was under the control of aliens.
Actor Tahmoh Penikett (left), who's best known as Lt. Karl C. 'Helo' Agathon on BSG,
also had a part on Stargate as one of the replicators in the dining room scene
in the episode Unnatural Selection. Unfortunately, despite the fact that he has
a line, it's literally a 'blink and
you'll miss it' scene that's very brief. His father is the former Yukon premier
Anthony David John Penikett.
Finally, actor Alessandro Juliani, who plays Lt. Felix Gaeta on BSG, appeared
in the fourth season Stargate episode Scorched Earth (pictured at right) as well as in
season eight's Moebius: Parts 1 and 2. Juliani also appeared with Richard
Dead Anderson in an episode of MacGyver. And, he also appeared in the Sci-Fi
Channel's adaptation of Earthsea, which also featured Amanda Tapping in the cast
(in a very brief cameo role).
