Fico, the right hand man to Prince Barin, was played by an actor named Richard O'Brien. O'Brien is perhaps best known as Riff-Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He originally wrote Rocky Horror and performed the part of Riff-Raff in the movie. He also wrote and appeared in Shock Treatment, the Rocky Horror Sequel, as well as appeared in such films as Dark City (as Mr. Hand). He was also in Dungeons & Dragons and Ever After. Having already been a part of a major cult film, Rocky Horror, leave it to O'Brien to appear in Flash Gordon, which turned out to be yet another cult smash.
