Dr. Zarkov's assistant is a man named Munson, who is played by an actor named William Hootkins. If Hootkins looks familiar, then you've probably seen him in one of a multitude of films that he appeared in. In Raiders Of The Lost Ark, he was Major Eaton, one of the army intelligence officers who met with Indy at the beginning of the film. In Tim Burton's Batman, Hootkins was the shady Lt. Eckhardt. But he's perhaps best known to Star Wars fans as the doomed X-Wing pilot Porkins, whose call sign was Red Six, in Star Wars: A New Hope. Sadly, Hootkins died of pancreatic cancer in 2005. But he left a long and varied career as an actor in many different films and TV shows.
