An interesting little fact that I've discovered about Lake Placid is that it has a scene which serves as a meeting of two acting scions. Mariska Hargitay is better known these days as Detective Olivia Benson on the TV series Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit. In Lake Placid, she plays Myra, Kelly Scott's close friend who has betrayed her by sleeping with her boyfriend.

But what some might not know is that Ms. Hargitay is also the daughter of the actress Jayne Mansfield. When you consider that Bridget Fonda is the daughter of actor Peter Fonda, it gives this brief scene in Lake Placid some added resonance for film buffs, in that it features the grown children of two famous actors. Just a little film fact I thought I'd share with you.
