The Killer Cast Of Sleepy Hollow

Christopher Lee Christopher Lee's (left) cameo in Sleepy Hollow as a New York City judge just feels so right. For not only does his presence help conjure up the feeling that you are watching an old Hammer Horror movie, there's something of a wicked in-joke at having the man who played Dracula sending Ichabod Crane to investigate the murders in Sleepy Hollow.

In addition to his roles as Dracula and the Mummy in the films he made for Hammer back in the late 1950s and the 1960s, Christopher Lee is also well known for his more recent roles as Saruman in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and as Count Dooku in Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones. He has reteamed with Burton for the director's latest film, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Martin Landau! Martin Landau (right), who briefly appears as the doomed Van Garrett at the beginning of Sleepy Hollow, has worked with director Tim Burton before. In Ed Wood, Landau played the washed up actor Bela Lugosi, a part which he won a well-deserved Oscar for (and which he also appeared opposite Johnny Depp).

Landau is perhaps best known to SF fans for his role as John Koenig, the commander of the Alpha Moonbase in Space: 1999. He has also appeared in such films as the X-Files movie, Woody Allen's Crimes And Misdemeanors and Alfred Hitchcock's North By Northwest.

Jeffery Jones Jeffery Jones (left) is no stranger to Tim Burton's films, having worked with Burton on the director's Beetlejuice and Ed Wood. In Sleepy Hollow he plays the Reverend Steenwyck. He has also appeared in such films as The Hunt For Red October, Valmont, and Stuart Little. He can be seen as newspaper publisher A.W. Merrick in the HBO series Deadwood.

Michael Gough Michael Gough (right) appears in Sleepy Hollow as Notary James Hardenbrook. But he also worked with Director Tim Burton before on Batman (1989) and Batman Returns, where he played Alfred, Bruce Wayne's faithful butler.

Gough had a long career in films even before that, appearing in such movies as Horrors Of The Black Museum, Phantom Of The Opera (1962), Trog, and Out of Africa. Working without Burton, he reprised the role of Alfred twice more in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

Christopher Walken Christopher Walken (left) has become something of modern day acting legend, known mainly for his intense roles. He has worked with Director Tim Burton before, as the villainous Max Shreck in Batman Returns. In Sleepy Hollow he plays the Hessian, which was the Headless Horseman's original identity before his death. Although Walken doesn't have many lines in the film, true to form, he steals every scene he's in. He effortlessly creates a memorable character without saying a word.

His huge film resume includes such movies as True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Nick Of Time (in which he stars with Johnny Depp), and The Deer Hunter.
